... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 715 PM MDT
for east central Johnson County...

At 657 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located just north of
Interstate 90 in the Powder River rest area, or about 30 miles east
of Buffalo, moving northeast at 10 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of east
central Johnson County.

This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 86 and 92.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This thunderstorm is capable of producing all types of severe weather
including extremely large hail, destructive straight line winds and
tornadoes. Move quickly to a safe shelter, such as an interior room,
a bathroom or closet or basement.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 6:55 PM MDT Aug. 22, 2019 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* small stream flood advisory for...
northeastern Johnson County in north central Wyoming...

* until 900 PM MDT.

* At 653 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding around the
Powder River rest area. Locations of greatest concern is Dry
Creek and Indian Creek.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Powder River rest area.

This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 81 and 93.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
