Special Statement
Issued: 4:50 AM CDT Aug. 17, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Patchy dense fog may affect travel this early morning...

Fog continued to develop across the area early this morning. The
fog was reducing the visibility to less than 1/4 mile in places,
and will pose a hazard to early morning motorists. Low-lying areas
and locations near rivers and streams will be most susceptible to
dense fog.

Motorists traveling across the region can expect sudden
fluctuations in the visibility as they travel into and out of
banks of dense fog. Always use low-beam headlights when driving in
fog, and keep extra distance between your vehicle and others.

The fog should lift within a couple hours of sunrise.
