Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 12:37 AM PDT Oct. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch in effect from this evening through late Tuesday
night...

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of northwest Washington and west
central Washington, including the following counties, in
northwest Washington, Clallam, Jefferson, and Mason. In west
central Washington, King and Snohomish.

* From this evening through late Tuesday night

* heavy rain over the Olympics and central Cascades today and
tonight will cause significant rises on area rivers. Minor
flooding is possible for some rivers starting tonight and
continuing into Tuesday.

* Rain is forecast to be heaviest along the west slopes of the
Olympics and over the central Cascades. With this pattern, the
rivers most likely to flood are the calawah and bogachiel in
Clallam County, the stillaguamish, Skykomish, and Snohomish in
Snohomish County, and the Snoqualmie and tolt rivers in King
County.

* If rain is heavier than forecast or spreads over a larger
region, other rivers flowing off the Olympics and Cascades could
also reach flood stage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor latest forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
