... A strong thunderstorm will affect north central Livingston...
southern Monroe... northeastern Genesee and northwestern Ontario
counties...

At 1103 am EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Le Roy, or 10
miles east of Batavia, moving east at 35 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Rochester, Irondequoit, Chili, East Rochester, Webster, Fairport,
Brighton, gates-North Gates, Henrietta, Penfield, Le Roy, Victor,
Honeoye Falls, Byron, Caledonia, Scottsville, Churchville, Mendon,
Riga and rush.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 390 between exits 11 and 12.
Interstate 90 between exits 47 and 45.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

... Strong thunderstorms likely today...

While some showers and thunderstorms could cross Genesee... Orleans
and Monroe counties this morning... there will be an elevated risk
for strong thunderstorm activity during the midday and afternoon.

A line of strong to potentially severe thunderstorms may develop
ahead of an approaching warm front after 12 noon. This forecast
line of thunderstorms could produce severe weather across the
Genesee Valley and western Finger Lakes region between noon and 4
PM EDT with the greatest severe weather threat being damaging
thunderstorm winds and hail.
