* snow squall warning for...
northern Clinton County in northern New York...
Franklin County in northern New York...
southeastern St. Lawrence County in northern New York...
northwestern Essex County in northern New York...
northern Grand Isle County in northwestern Vermont...

* until 600 PM EST.

* At 453 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line
extending from near Churubusco to Fullerville, moving east at 45
mph.

Hazard... visibility of less than one quarter mile in heavy snow
           and blowing snow. Wind gusts in excess of 35 mph.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... dangerous life-threatening travel.

* Routes 3 and 11 in St. Lawrence and Franklin counties will be
affected by this snow squall.

Locations impacted include...
Tupper Lake, Adirondack Regional Airport, Oswegatchie, Mooers,
Altona, Piercefield, Ellenburg Depot, Champlain, Bryants Mill,
Wawbeek, Degrasse, Lyon Mountain, Burke, Merrill, Carry Falls
Reservoir, Cranberry Lake, Malone, Churubusco, Debar Mountain and
Jericho.

... Snow squalls possible across northern New York through 6 PM...

Snow squalls are possible as a cold front moves across northern
New York later this afternoon. Ongoing snow showers across western
St. Lawrence County are expected to accelerate eastward during the
mid to late afternoon hours. Affected locations will see rapidly
changing weather and Road conditions... with brief heavy snow and
gusty winds. A quick snow accumulation of 1 or 2 inches possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be prepared for areas of blowing snow. This could lead to
temporary whiteout conditions and the potential for dangerous
driving conditions. If you are traveling and encounter adverse
winter driving conditions... reduce speed and make sure headlights
are on.
