The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northwestern Clay County in south central Nebraska...
northeastern Adams County in south central Nebraska...

* until 530 PM CDT Saturday.

* At 536 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding along 26th
street east of Hastings covering the roadway in multiple locations.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hastings and Trumbull.

Additional rainfall is possible overnight and will only worsen the
impacts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Issued: 9:45 PM CDT Aug. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Hastings has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of north central Kansas
and Nebraska, including the following areas, in north central
Kansas, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks, and Smith. In Nebraska,
Adams, Buffalo, Franklin, Greeley, Hall, Harlan, Howard,
Kearney, Phelps, Sherman, Valley, and Webster.

* Through Saturday evening

* heavy rainfall associated with slow moving thunderstorms could
result in flash flooding.

* Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches could occur.. with locally
higher amounts possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* flood advisory for...
northwestern Clay County in south central Nebraska...
northeastern Adams County in south central Nebraska...
southwestern Hamilton County in south central Nebraska...
southeastern Hall County in south central Nebraska...

* until 900 am CDT Saturday.

* At 907 am CDT, excessive runoff from heavy rainfall was causing
flooding of small creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and
other low lying spots. Some roads were closed due to high water.
Doppler radar and rain gauge measurements indicate that 3 to
nearly 8 inches of rain fell overnight.

* Water was beginning to recede... but creeks will remain high
through the rest of the today as water continues to drain.

* This advisory replaces the previous advisories that were in effect
for much of Hall County and the city of Hastings.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hastings, Doniphan, Juniata, Alda, Trumbull, inland and Hansen.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
