New Madrid... Ripley... Stoddard and Butler counties until 530 PM
CDT...

At 432 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Essex to near Fisk to 7 miles east of
Alton. Movement was southwest at 10 mph.

Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Poplar Bluff, Sikeston, Dexter, Charleston, Portageville, East
Prairie, New Madrid, Cairo, Doniphan, Bernie, Bloomfield, Lilbourn,
Miner, Big Oak Tree State Park, hunter-Dawson state historic site,
towosahgy state historic site, Malden, Clarkton, Gideon and
Morehouse.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.


A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 700 PM CDT for
southeastern Missouri.
