The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River at Hermann
* from Monday afternoon to Saturday August 24.
* At 8:30 am Saturday the stage was 19.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Monday afternoon
and to crest near 24.3 feet by Wednesday evening. The river is
forecast to fall below flood stage by Friday early afternoon.

the Missouri River at Gasconade
* from Sunday afternoon until further notice.
* At 2:00 PM Friday the stage was 21.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow
afternoon and crest near 26.6 feet by Wednesday evening.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 PM CDT this
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of west central Illinois and Missouri... including the
following counties... in west central Illinois... Adams IL...
Brown IL and Pike IL. In Missouri... Audrain MO... Boone MO...
Callaway MO... Knox MO... Lewis MO... Marion MO... Monroe MO...
Montgomery MO... Pike MO... Ralls MO and Shelby MO.

* Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon

* thunderstorms are expected to move into central and northeast
Missouri as well as west central Missouri this morning. One to
two inches of rain with locally heavier amounts are expected.

* Heavy rainfall will result in flooding of low lying or poor
drainage areas... and ultimately dangerous flash flooding on
smaller creeks and streams. Rises on larger streams and rivers
will also be possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch is advanced notice that conditions are
favorable that may lead to flash flooding. People in the watch
area, especially in flood prone areas, should use this time to
make preparations just in case. Stay informed, and be ready for
quick action if flooding is observed or if a Flash Flood Warning
is issued.
