... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 630 am CDT for
Clinton County in south central Illinois... northern Monroe and
southern Madison counties in southwestern Illinois... southern
Marion... Washington counties in south central Illinois and St. Clair
counties in southwestern Illinois...

At 205 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have
temporarily moved out of the warned area. Additional showers and
thunderstorms over Missouri are expected to move into southwest
Illinois early this which could bring additional heavy rainfall.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Belleville, Granite City, O'Fallon, east St. Louis,
Collinsville, Edwardsville, Fairview Heights, Cahokia, Swansea,
Centralia, Glen Carbon, Shiloh, Highland, Troy, Waterloo, Columbia,
Maryville, Salem and Mascoutah.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 109 and 116.
Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 9 and 61.

This also includes Horseshoe Lake State Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

favorable that may lead to flash flooding. People in the watch
area, especially in flood prone areas, should use this time to
make preparations just in case. Stay informed, and be ready for
quick action if flooding is observed or if a Flash Flood Warning
