Issued: 5:46 AM CDT Jun. 16, 2019 – National Weather Service

... The flood advisory remains in effect until 930 am CDT for
northeastern Clinton... Marion and southern Fayette counties...

At 544 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated that rain has ended over the
area and that up to three inches of rain has fallen overnight.
Automated stream gages are showing that creeks are rising but remain
within their banks.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Salem, Vandalia, Centralia, Sandoval, Odin, Kinmundy, Mulberry Grove,
Patoka, Farina, Omega, Stephen Forbes station, Shobonier, Fairman,
Boulder, Shattuc, Tonti, La Clede, Pittsburg, Iuka and Junction City.

This includes Interstate 57 in Illinois between exits 116 and 135.

This also includes Carlyle Lake recreational area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
