Excessive Heat Warning
Issued: 3:56 PM CDT Jul. 16, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat warning in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to 7 PM
CDT Friday...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued an
excessive heat warning, which is in effect from 1 PM Wednesday to
7 PM CDT Friday. This replaces the excessive heat watch.

* Heat index values... up to 109 due to temperatures in the upper
90s, and dewpoints around 70.

* Timing... Wednesday afternoon through at least Friday evening and
could linger into part of Saturday.

* Impacts... the heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and
check up on relatives and neighbors.
