Issued: 3:44 AM PST Dec. 7, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon PST Sunday
above 7000 feet...

* changes... increase in valley wind gusts.

* What... heavy, wet snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1
to 2 feet west of Highway 395 above 7000 feet with up to 3 feet
along the crest. Communities along Highway 395 may receive 2-6"
of wet snowfall. Winds gusting as high as 70 to 90 mph on the
Sierra ridges with gusts up to 40-50 mph for lower elevations.

* Where... Mono County including Bridgeport and Mammoth Lakes.

* When... through noon Sunday. Particularly dangerous travel
conditions could occur this evening into early Sunday morning
when high intensity snowfall rates and thundersnow are forecast,
mainly along and west of Highway 395.

* Impacts... travel could be very difficult to impossible on high
elevation roadways. Gusty winds and heavy, wet snow could
bring down tree branches.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Avoid travel if possible, you could be stuck in your vehicle for
many hours. If you must travel, prepare for long delays and carry
an emergency kit with extra food, water and clothing. If you stay
home, have a backup plan in case of power outages.
