Flood Warning
Issued: 3:09 PM CDT Jun. 26, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Arkansas River at Van Buren.
* Until further notice.
* At 2:00 PM Wednesday, the stage was 25.11 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring but the river is falling.
* Forecast... the Arkansas River at Van Buren will continue falling to
near 22.3 feet by late Friday night and remain near that level
through Monday.
* Impact... at 25.0 feet, extensive agricultural lowland flooding
occurs along the shoreline from Van Buren downstream to Lavaca.
Some rural roads near Lavaca are impassable. Much of Kelley Park
northwest of downtown Fort Smith is flooded.

The flood advisory continues for
the Lee Creek near Van Buren
* until Thursday morning, or until the advisory is cancelled.
* At 1:13 PM Wednesday, the stage was 399.5 feet.
* Action stage is 399.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 401.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is below flood stage and will continue to fall
to below action stage by late tonight.
* Impact... at 399.0 feet, faster flows are expected along the river
but no flooding occurs. Interests near the river, tailwater park,
and the recreational vehicle campground should continue to monitor
later forecasts.
