Special Statement
Issued: 9:50 PM CDT Oct. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Significant weather advisory for patchy dense fog across
northeast Alabama...

Patchy dense fog has developed in the larger river valleys of
northeast Alabama, including the Tennessee River valley and Big Wills
Valley, as well as in the vicinity of lake Guntersville.
Visibilities are expected to fall to one quarter of a mile or less in
a few locations.

Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution, as visibilities
will vary significantly given the patchy nature of the fog. Use low
beams, reduce driving speed, and allow for plenty of room between you
and other cars.

The fog should begin to dissipate shortly after midnight, as both
cloud cover and surface winds increase.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio, or a favorite local media outlet,
for further statements or updates from the National Weather Service
in Huntsville.
