The Flood Warning continues for
the Pine Island Bayou near Sour Lake.
* From Thursday morning until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 9:45 am Wednesday the stage was 22.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and continue
to rise to near 26.8 feet by Saturday evening.
* Impact... at stages near 25.0 feet... water inundates roads in
lowland areas near the river. Low spots on old Sour Lake Road are
under water.
* Impact... at stages near 22.0 feet... river is at bankfull stage.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Neches River at Neches River saltwater barrier.
* From Thursday afternoon until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 10:15 am Wednesday the stage was 3.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and
continue to rise to near 4.9 feet by Monday morning. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact... at stages near 5.0 feet... water is about two feet over
portions of Four Oaks ranch Road.

Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 10:53 AM CDT Sep. 18, 2019 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* flood advisory for...
Jefferson County in southeastern Texas...
southeastern Hardin County in southeastern Texas...

* until 245 PM CDT.

* At 1050 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated moderate to heavy rain
that will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Five to seven
inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beaumont, Port Arthur, Nederland, Groves, Port Neches, Sour Lake,
Nome, Hamshire, Central Gardens, Bevil Oaks, China, Port Acres,
Fannett, La Belle and southeast Texas regional Airport.

Additional rainfall of one to three inches is expected over the area
through 3 PM. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas, including
the following areas, in southwest Louisiana, Beauregard,
Calcasieu, East Cameron, and West Cameron. In southeast Texas,
Hardin, Jefferson, northern Jasper, northern Newton, Orange,
southern Jasper, southern Newton, and Tyler.

* Through Thursday evening

* 2 to 6 inches of rainfall in far southwest Louisiana with
isolated higher amounts. 4 to 9 inches of rain is forecast for
southeast Texas with 12 inches or more possible in isolated
locations.

* Heavy rainfall in a short period of time may overwhelm
drainage systems causing flooding of streets and low lying
areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
