Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:59 PM EST Nov. 16, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect from 11 am to 5 PM
EST Sunday...

* locations... southeastern Suffolk and northeastern Suffolk.

* Timing... from 11 am to 5 PM EST Sunday.

* Coastal flood impacts... up to one foot of inundation above
ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines
and tidal waterways. Some roads and low lying properties
including parking lots, Parks, lawns, and homes and businesses
with basements near the Waterfront will experience shallow flooding.

* Shoreline impacts... the combination of elevated water levels
and rough seas along the ocean beachfront and north facing
beachfronts elsewhere should also result in significant beach
erosion and localized splashovers around the times of high
tide.

* Outlook... minor coastal flooding and additional beach erosion
are also possible around the times of high tide from Sunday
night through Monday night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour.
