Special Statement
Issued: 4:20 AM EDT Sep. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Locally dense fog through 8 am this morning...

Locally dense fog will continue in many river valleys and areas
adjacent to lakes and swamps this morning across eastern New York
and adjacent western New England.

Portions of the Mohawk and Hudson valleys, the Schoharie valley,
and Housatonic and Connecticut River valleys in southern Vermont,
Massachusetts and northwest Connecticut will be most prone to this
dense fog.

In some of these areas, visibilities may drop below one half of a
mile. Motorists are urged to use extra caution this morning, use
low beam headlights and allow for increased breaking distance when
traveling through these areas.

The fog is expected to lift between 8 and 10 am.
