... Flood Watch in effect from 1 am EST Saturday through Saturday
evening...

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flood Watch for of northwestern Connecticut and western
Massachusetts.

* From 1 am EST Saturday through Saturday evening

* rain will increase in intensity overnight with one to two inches
expected by daybreak Saturday. Additional rainfall up to half an
inch is possible Saturday. The runoff will result in river rises
with points in the hoosic and Housatonic basins nearing or
exceeding minor flood stage. In addition, urban and small stream
flooding is possible.

* Some of the slower responding rivers may reach near minor flood
stage late Saturday night into Sunday.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
