... Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon CST today...
... Hard freeze warning in effect from 8 PM this evening to 8 am
CST Wednesday...

* what... for the hard freeze warning, sub-freezing temperatures as
low as 23 expected. For the Wind Advisory, north winds around
20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Where... Pointe Coupee, West Feliciana, East Feliciana, St.
Helena, Iberville, West Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge and
northern Tangipahoa counties.

* When... for the hard freeze warning, from 8 PM Tuesday to 8 am
CST Wednesday. For the Wind Advisory, from midnight tonight to
noon CST Tuesday.

* Impacts... gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbscould be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Frost and hard freezing conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

* Additional details... duration of freeze ranging from 9 to 13
hours. Hard freeze for up to 4 to 8 hours

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
