... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southeast Kansas and Missouri, including the
following areas, in southeast Kansas, Bourbon, Cherokee, and
Crawford. In Missouri, Barton, Benton, Cedar, Morgan, St.
Clair, and Vernon.

* Through late tonight

* heavy rain this morning through this evening. Rain amounts of 2
to 3 inches will be possible which may lead to some flash
flooding.

* Flooding will be the most likely over low lying areas and near
creeks, streams and low water crossings over southeast Kansas
into west central Missouri.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
