Issued: 10:50 PM EDT Jun. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the East Fork White River at Shoals.
* Until Thursday afternoon.
* At 10:30 PM Sunday the stage was 27.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will continue to fall to below flood stage by late
Wednesday night.
* At 28.0 feet... beginning April 25, 2011 and continuing through may
8, 2011 three County roads were closed because of East Fork White
River flooding in northern DuBois County. Portersville Rd W was
closed in two locations... just east of CR 500w and between CR 650w
and CR 660w. One other County Road was flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Petersburg.
* Until Wednesday July 03.
* At 10:30 PM Sunday the stage was 25.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will rise to near 25.4 feet by Monday evening then
begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Tuesday July 02.
* At 25.8 feet... near major flooding in progress. During the may
1990, the town of Petersburg lost their main water line. This
problem is believed to have been corrected. Seven floods since may
1990 have reached this level. Levees are monitored at this level.
Numerous roads flooded. Flood waters approach State Road 56 near
Bowman. Extensive flooding in Dodge City.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Edwardsport.
* Until Sunday June 30.
* At 7:00 PM Sunday the stage was 22.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Saturday evening.
* At 22.9 feet... a 25 foot section of levee unit 8 failed at this
level on March 6 2011... flooding local roads behind the levee.
Flooding not nearly as bad as June 2008 levee failure. Flooding
was very close to one of the June 2008 failures.

the White River at Newberry.
* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 10:30 PM Sunday the stage was 18.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will continue to fall to below flood stage by Tuesday
evening.
* At 19.0 feet... extensive agricultural flooding is in progress. Some
state and County roads flood. County Road 600 W just north of
river flooded by possibly more than two feet of water for a
considerable distance in Mary Long Cutoff area. County roads 900 W
and 750 S begin to flood in Greene County.

the White River at Elliston.
* Until Tuesday evening.
* At 8:00 am Sunday the stage was 24.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will continue to fall to below flood stage by Tuesday
morning.
* At 24.0 feet... State Road 157 between Worthington and Bloomfield
begins to flood. County Road 175 south of Bloomfield floods.
County Road 100 W between CR 110 N and sr 67 (jefferson twp), CR
850 N between sr 48 and sr 157 (jefferson twp), CR 250 W between sr
54 and CR 250 N (fairplay twp), CR 200 W between CR 157 S and CR
260 S (washington twp), CR 100 W between CR 100 S and CR 260 S
(washington twp), and CR 250 W and the White River affected by high
water.
