The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* urban and small stream flood advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
northwestern Mesa County in west central Colorado...

* until 845 PM MDT.

* At 648 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain near
Glade Park due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
minor flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Junction, Fruita, Palisade, Cameo, Fruitvale, Clifton,
Orchard Mesa, Glade Park and Redlands.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Colorado between mile markers 22 and 47.
U.S. Highway 50 in Colorado between mile markers 32 and 41.
Colorado 141 between mile markers 151 and 162.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

the Colorado River near co-UT state line
* until further notice.
* At 11 am Monday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 11.8 feet by Tuesday late
morning.
