... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 3 PM PDT this
afternoon...

* what... areas of north winds 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph.
Winds will diminish slowly by mid afternoon. There will be
isolated gusts to 75 mph near the peaks through dawn.

* Where... Ventura County mountains.

* When... until 3 PM PDT today.

* Impacts... damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially
for drivers of high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior
to the onset of winds. People should avoid being outside in
forested areas and around trees during the strongest winds. Use
caution if you must drive.





Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 9:55 AM PDT Oct. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM PDT this
evening for gusty northerly winds and low relative humidity for
the Santa Monica Mountains and San Fernando Valley...

* winds... north winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph,
strongest in the Santa Monica Mountains and foothills of the San
Fernando Valley.

* Relative humidity... minimum humidities 12 to 20 percent.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, conditions would be favorable
for rapid spread of wildfire and extreme fire behavior which
would threaten life and property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are expected. A combination of strong winds... low relative
humidity... and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire
behavior. Use extreme caution with potential fire ignition
sources.

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this red flag warning.
