... High Wind Warning in effect from 1 am Thursday to noon PDT
Friday...

* what... northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph
expected.

* Where... Los Angeles County mountains excluding the Santa
Monica range and Santa Clarita valley.

* When... from 1 am Thursday to noon PDT Friday.

* Impacts... damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.






Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:34 PM PDT Oct. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 1 am Thursday to 10 PM
PDT Friday for wind and low relative humidity for the hills and
canyons of the Los Angeles coast and San Gabriel valley...

* winds... northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph in the
hills and canyons.

* Relative humidity... as low as 2 to 9 percent. Very poor
overnight recoveries.

* Temperature... as high as 92 to 97 degrees. Warmest on Friday.

* Impacts... if fire ignition occurs, conditions will be
favorable for extreme fire behavior and rapid growth which
would threaten life and property.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior. Use extreme caution with
potential fire ignition sources.
