Issued: 5:01 PM MST Dec. 8, 2019 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 945 PM MST for
Yavapai and Coconino counties...

At 455 PM MST, gauge reports on Beaver Creek at Montezuma Castle are
showing a 6.5 foot rise this afternoon. This is one foot
higher that the peak flow this past Wednesday evening.

Runoff from rainfall and snowmelt will continue this evening and
flash flooding will continue. Do not try to cross Beaver Creek at
reay Rd or Lacy ln (across from the Camp Verde high school), as well
as other low water crossings.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Camp Verde, McGuireville, Montezuma well, Montezuma Castle National
Monument, Rimrock, Lake Montezuma, wet Beaver Creek Campground and v
bar v visitors center.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
