... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 7 am CDT Thursday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Iowa, southeast Minnesota, and Wisconsin,
including the following areas, in Iowa, Allamakee, Chickasaw,
Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchell, and Winneshiek. In
southeast Minnesota, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted,
Wabasha, and Winona. In Wisconsin, Buffalo, Crawford, Grant,
La Crosse, Monroe, Richland, Trempealeau, and Vernon.

* Until 7 am CDT Thursday

* thunderstorms could produce repeated rounds of heavy rainfall
overnight. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible with
localized higher amounts.

* Be prepared for rapidly rising water levels and possible
flooding if you are near a river, stream, or low lying area.
Be ready to move to higher ground if heavy rain develops. Rock
and mudslides are possible in steep terrain areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Issued: 9:25 PM CDT Jul. 17, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect from noon Thursday to 7 PM CDT
Friday...

* temperature... afternoon temperatures of 90 to 95 are expected,
with afternoon heat indices between 100 and 105.

* Impacts... heat-related illnesses may occur with prolonged
exposure to the heat. The elderly, children, and pets are
especially at risk for heat illnesses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
