Lakeshore Flood Advisory
Issued: 3:17 AM CDT Oct. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Lakeshore flood advisory remains in effect from 10 am this
morning to 10 PM CDT this evening...

* winds... southeast winds will increase to 20 to 30 mph later this
morning, with gusts as high as 40 to 45 mph for 1 or 2 hours.
The winds will turn to the south later this afternoon and
decrease.

* Waves... building to 8 to 12 feet at the Lakeshore by early
afternoon, then decreasing this evening as winds become south to
southwest and diminish.

* Impacts... minor flooding of beaches, along with roads and
structures in low lying areas near the Lakeshore, are possible.
The high waves may cause Bluff erosion along Lake Michigan. The
primary period of strong winds and high waves will be between 11
am and 5 PM CDT today.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore flood advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate flooding of low areas along the Lakeshore.
