The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northwestern Whiteside County in northwestern Illinois...
Jackson County in east central Iowa...
northeastern Clinton County in east central Iowa...

* until 1130 am CDT Sunday.

* At 524 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated that two to three inches of
rain has fallen across the area. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly. Expect flooding of urban areas, rural creeks and
streams and roads adjacent to these areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clinton, Maquoketa, Morrison, Camanche, Bellevue, Garden Plain,
Preston, Albany, Lyndon, Sabula, Delmar, miles, Andrew, Charlotte,
La Motte, Springbrook, St. Donatus, Andover, Zwingle and
Spragueville.

This includes Interstate 88 between mile markers 25 and 33.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 am CDT this
morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Illinois and east central Iowa, including the
following areas, in Illinois, Bureau, Carroll, Henry IL,
Putnam, Rock Island, Stephenson, and Whiteside. In east
central Iowa, Clinton and Scott.

* Until 10 am CDT this morning

* wet soils with rainfall rates of up to 1 to 2 inches an hour
could lead to flash flooding into this morning.

* Be prepared for rapidly rising water levels and possible
flooding if you are near a river, stream, or low lying area.
Be ready to move to higher ground if heavy rain develops.
