Special Weather Statement
Issued: Environment Canada
Special Weather Statement issued by Environment. 01:51 AM ADT Tuesday 16 July 2019.
Humidex values reaching 35 are expected for the next 2 days.

A warm and humid airmass will move into New Brunswick today and persist on Wednesday. For central and eastern regions of the province, maximum daytime temperatures near 30 degrees, and humidex values between 33 and 38, are expected on both days. Minimum overnight temperatures will remain near 18 degrees providing little relief from the heat. Temperatures will be cooler along the coast where southwest winds blow onshore.

Temperature and humidity levels will decrease Wednesday night and into Thursday morning as a cold front sweeps across the province.

Elsewhere in New Brunswick, temperatures and humidity levels are forecast to remain just below warning criteria.

###

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
