Watches & Warnings

Excessive Heat Watch
Issued: 9:51 PM EDT Jul. 17, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon
through Saturday evening...

* heat index values... potentially greater than 105f as a result of
temperature in 90s and dewpoints in the 70s.

* Timing... Friday afternoon into early evening, and again
Saturday afternoon into early evening.

* Impacts... the heat and humidity may cause heat stress during
outdoor exertion or extended exposure.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of heat and
humidity is expected. The combination of hot temperature and high
humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in which
heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an
air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on
relatives and neighbors.
