Special Statement
Issued: 1:13 PM EST Dec. 10, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Icy spots developing this evening and into tonight...

Across central and northern Vermont, a cold front will usher in
much colder temperatures this evening. As temperatures fall below
freezing between 6 and 9 PM, any areas of standing water will
rapidly freeze, creating icy spots on roads and sidewalks. For
those traveling, use caution tonight as black ice can be difficult
to spot, especially at nighttime.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Temperatures are above freezing... but sharply colder temperatures
following today's snow melt will cause any water or slush to
quickly freeze on roads and sidewalks this evening. Untreated
surfaces will become extremely slippery and offer little or no
traction. Reduced speeds and greater distance between vehicles is
advised.
