Flood Warning
Issued: 10:00 AM CDT Apr. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Black Cypress Bayou at Jefferson.
* From Tuesday morning until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 9:00 am Friday the stage was 7.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late Tuesday morning and
continue to rise to near 14.0 feet by Wednesday early afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Sulphur river near Naples.
* From late Sunday night until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* The river was estimated to be near 16.7 feet at 7 am on April 28.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage Sunday night and continue to rise
to near 27.5 feet on may 2nd... and hold through at least may 3rd.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.

Lake Wind Advisory
Issued: 10:49 AM CDT Apr. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am CDT Saturday...

* event... a tightening pressure gradient across the Southern
Plains will result in strong southerly winds increasing to 15-
20 mph with gusts to 30-35 mph over much of East Texas, southern
Arkansas, and north Louisiana. While these winds may briefly
diminish a bit this evening, winds should increase to 15 to 20
mph with higher gusts by mid evening and persist throughout the
overnight hours.

* Timing... from 11 am CDT this morning to 7 am CDT Saturday.

* Impact... boaters should exercise caution on area lakes due to
rough chop conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
