Flood Warning
Issued: 4:42 AM EST Dec. 13, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Congaree River at Carolina Eastman.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 2 am Thursday the stage was 120.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 115.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 119.8 feet
by this evening.
* At 119.0 feet... extensive flooding occurs in the Congaree National
Park. Some area farmland is flooded. Minor flooding occurs at the
Carolina Eastman facility.
* At 115.0 feet... flooding occurs in low lying areas of the Carolina
Eastman facility and at the Congaree National Park.

Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:02 AM EST Dec. 13, 2018 – National Weather Service

The flood advisory continues for
the Congaree River at Columbia.
* Until this evening.
* At 10 am Thursday the stage was 13.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will fall over the next 48 hours before
rising once again in response to additional rainfall. The
river is expected to crest again around 15.6 feet Monday morning.
* Advisory stage is 10.0 feet.
* At 16.0 feet... old State Road, SC 66, below Cayce becomes flooded.
* At 14.0 feet... roads in low lying areas and swampland downstream
from Columbia become flooded. Most of the Cayce and West Columbia
river walk is flooded.
* At 13.0 feet... flooding occurs in flood prone areas near and
downstream from Columbia. Flooding also occurs over much of the
Cayce and West Columbia river walk.
* At 10.0 feet... flooding occurs in flood prone areas near and
downstream from Columbia. Flooding also occurs on parts of the
Cayce and West Columbia river walk.
