... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 1 am to 1 PM EST
Monday...

* what... very cold wind chills expected, with wind chills as low
as 20 below zero.

* Where... southern Connecticut, the lower Hudson Valley and
western Bergen and Passaic counties.

* When... from 1 am to 1 PM EST Monday.

* Additional details... the cold wind chills could cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph,
or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Use
extra caution.

A combination of very cold temperatures and plenty of residual
moisture and leftover standing water on area roads will freeze, or
remain frozen. This will lead to areas of black ice. Anyone out
driving or walking should be prepared for slippery roads and
walkways, and use extra caution.
