The National Weather Service in Elko has issued a red flag
warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in
effect from 11 am Wednesday to 11 PM PDT Thursday.

* Affected area... fire weather zone 454 central Lander and
Eureka counties... fire weather zone 455 White Pine County...
fire weather zone 457 northern Nye County/Lander and Eureka
counties south of Highway 50... fire weather zone 467 central
and western Humboldt County and fire weather zone 468 eastern
Humboldt County and northwestern Elko County.

* Winds... valleys... southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40
mph. Mountains... southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with local gusts
up to 50 mph.

* Relative humidity... as low as 11 percent. Poor recovery
Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

* Impacts... the combination of gusty winds and low humidity will
create critical fire weather conditions. Note that not all fuels
are reported as cured. Mostly grasses will be vulnerable to the
dry and windy conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
