... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of south central New Mexico including Dona Ana, Otero,
and eastern Sierra counties, and much of West Texas, including
El Paso and Hudspeth counties.

* Through 10 PM MDT Thursday

* heavy rainfall with widespread totals of 1 inch and isolated
totals of 2 to 3 inches of rain will be possible.

* Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding of low water
crossings, poor drainage areas and other flood prone areas,
including recent burn scars in area mountains. Some Road
closures may be required with property damage possible around
flood prone locations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
