... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Wednesday evening through
late Wednesday night...

The National Weather Service in El Paso TX/Santa Teresa has
issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of south central New Mexico and
far West Texas, including the following areas, in south central
New Mexico, Dona Ana, Otero and eastern Sierra counties... and
in far West Texas, El Paso and Hudspeth counties.

* From Wednesday evening through at least Thursday morning

* heavy rainfall with widespread totals of 1 inch with isolated
totals of 2 to 3 inches of rain will be possible.

* Heavy rains could lead to flash flooding of low water crossings
and other flood prone areas, including recent burn scars in area
mountains.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
