... Flood Watch in effect from Friday afternoon through Saturday
afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of western Nebraska and Wyoming,
including the following areas, in western Nebraska, Banner,
Box Butte, Dawes, North Sioux, Scotts Bluff, and south Sioux.
In Wyoming, central Laramie County, east Laramie County, east
Platte County, Goshen County, and Niobrara County.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.

* Heavy, potentially slow-moving, rain showers will fall across
the High Plains Friday and Saturday across swaths of snow still
lingering from last week's blizzard.

* Snowmelt over the last few days has already caused streams and
rivers to swell. Any added rainfall over a lingering snowpack
may overwhelm the water system and cause areas of flooding,
especially near and downstream of existing snow drifts.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
