Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 6:36 AM EDT Sep. 25, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Patchy thick fog across sections of central North Carolina
early this morning...

A moist and stable air mass at the surface has resulted in the
formation of low clouds and patchy thick fog early this morning.
The fog was reducing the visibility to between a mile and a half
of a mile with a few spots as low as a quarter of a mile.

The patchy fog will linger through 9 am then slowly lift and
dissipate.

Be on the lookout for sudden changes in visibility. Visibility
can drop quickly over short distances, especially near rivers,
lakes and other low-lying areas. Also, be especially cautious in
and near school zones and bus stops. Watch for flashing yellow or
red signals on school buses and be on the lookout for school
children.
