Areal Flood Warning
Issued: 1:45 PM MDT May. 26, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
west central Lewis And Clark County in west central Montana...

* until 1015 am MDT Sunday.

* At 1 PM Saturday, emergency officials reported that flooding
continues to affect and worsen in The Stonewall subdivision of the
Lincoln Valley.

* Heavy rain from thunderstorms Friday evening/night over the Park
Creek burn scar resulted in a debris flow of rocks and trees,
which has blocked and diverted water from Stonewall creek into The
Stonewall subdivision area.

* Additional thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain leading
to flash flooding are possible through the weekend. You are urged
to be prepared to evacuate should floodwaters threaten life or
property.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Stonewall subdivision near Lincoln.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find
an alternate Route.

Move away from recently burned areas. Life threatening flooding of
creeks, roads and normally dry arroyos is likely. Heavy rains can
trigger Rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain,
especially in and around these areas.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of west central Montana,
including the following area, central and southern Lewis And
Clark.

* Through late tonight

* heavy rain from possible showers and thunderstorms on recent
burn scars from last summer's wildfires in the Lincoln area will
pose a threat of producing additional mudslides, debris flows,
and flash flooding.

* Please prepare for rapidly changing conditions if you live near
or downstream of recent burn scars and heavy rain from showers
and thunderstorms develop across the area.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
