Wind Chill Advisory, Winter Storm Warning

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM CST this
afternoon...
... Wind Chill Advisory now in effect until 10 am CST Wednesday...

* what... heavy snow expected. Very cold wind chills expected. Plan
on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning
commute. Snow accumulations of 2 to 3 inches are expected.
Expect wind chills to range from single digits this morning
through this afternoon with the coldest wind chills tonight
near 0, especially on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

* Where... in Arkansas, Chicot County. In Mississippi, Bolivar,
Sunflower, Leflore and Washington County.

* When... for the Winter Storm Warning, until 3 PM today. For the
Wind Chill Advisory, 6 am this morning to 10 am Wednesday.

* Additional details... look for significant reductions in
visibility at times. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite
in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an
emergency. The latest Road conditions for the state you are
calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.






Hard Freeze Warning

... Hard freeze warning remains in effect until noon CST
Thursday...

* temperature... temperatures will fall below freezing during the
today and should remain below freezing through Thursday
morning. Overnight lows will drop into the teens both Tuesday
night and Wednesday night. Afternoon highs on Wednesday are
expected to remain below freezing.

* Impacts... prolonged exposure could lead to hypothermia and may
harm pets and livestock. Exposed plumbing is in danger of
being damaged.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hard freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are
imminent or highly likely. These conditions will be dangerous to
people and pets without adequate shelter and could damage exposed
pipes.
