Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 3:43 AM CST Dec. 10, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Mixed wintry precipitation expected today...

Rain will continue to move across the midsouth this morning.
As colder air moves slowly south during the day, the rain will
likely mix with light snow later this morning along and north of
Interstate 40, including the Memphis Metro area. The mix of rain
and snow will briefly change to only snow before ending this
afternoon. With the ground being fairly warm after monday's
temperatures in the mid and upper 60s, any accumulations of snow
will be confined to grassy areas.

The rain/snow mixture will move into north Mississippi late
this afternoon and early evening, while ending over west
Tennessee and east Arkansas.

Temperatures will cool below freezing overnight tonight, after
the precipitation has ended. However, given light winds, moisture
may remain on bridges, possibly freezing and creating some slick
spots on bridges early Wednesday morning.
