* Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in...
Worth County in northwestern Missouri...
northern Gentry County in northwestern Missouri...
Nodaway County in northwestern Missouri...

* until 915 PM CDT.

* At 619 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms with
heavy rain over Holt County causing flooding. Up to one inch of
rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Maryville, Albany, Stanberry, Grant City, Burlington Junction,
Ravenwood, Skidmore, Irena, Conception Junction, Sheridan, Parnell,
Clearmont, Pickering, Darlington, CLyde, Gentry, Arkoe, Worth,
Allendale and Quitman.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Kansas and Missouri, including the following
areas, in Kansas, Atchison KS, Doniphan, Johnson KS,
Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami, and Wyandotte. In Missouri,
Adair, Andrew, Atchison MO, Bates, Buchanan, Caldwell,
Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, De Kalb, Gentry,
Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn
MO, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Putnam, ray,
Schuyler, Sullivan, and Worth.

* Through Sunday morning

* additional storm development is possible late this afternoon
into the evening hours. An additional one to two inches of
rainfall are expected through Sunday morning, with locally
higher amounts possible. These storms will produce heavy
rainfall over areas that are already saturated from recent
storms.

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to
the dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and
streams will likely become flooded during and immediately
after heavy rainfall. Be very careful if driving at night as
flood water are very hard to see.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
