The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River at Brownville.
* At 9:15 am Saturday the stage was 37.5 feet... or 3.5 feet above
flood stage.
* Flood stage is 34.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 38.5 feet by
Monday mornin.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Tarkio river at Fairfax.
* Until Sunday afternoon.
* At 7:15 PM Friday the stage was 26.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 26.3 feet by
early Saturday morning. The river will fall below flood stage early
Saturday afternoon.
* At 25.6 feet... flood waters will reach the intersection of State
Highway j and U.S. Highway 59 on the west side of Fairfax.
* At 25.0 feet... levees in the vicinity of Fairfax are overtopped.
Flooding of farmland along with homesteads and roads occurs.
* At 19.0 feet... flooding begins in the vicinity of Corning.
* At 18.0 feet... U.S. Highway 59 north of Fairfax begins to flood.
* At 17.0 feet... low-lying farm fields begin to flood.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Kansas and Missouri, including the following
areas, in Kansas, Atchison KS, Doniphan, Johnson KS,
Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami, and Wyandotte. In Missouri,
Adair, Andrew, Atchison MO, Bates, Buchanan, Caldwell,
Carroll, Cass, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, De Kalb, Gentry,
Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Jackson, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Linn
MO, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Putnam, ray,
Schuyler, Sullivan, and Worth.

* Through Sunday morning

* additional storm development is possible late this afternoon
into the evening hours. An additional one to two inches of
rainfall are expected through Sunday morning, with locally
higher amounts possible. These storms will produce heavy
rainfall over areas that are already saturated from recent
storms.

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to
the dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and
streams will likely become flooded during and immediately
after heavy rainfall. Be very careful if driving at night as
flood water are very hard to see.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
