... Flood Warning extended until further notice... the Flood Warning
continues for
the Pearl River near Bogalusa.
* Until further notice.
* At 7:00 PM Saturday the stage was 20.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 19.5 feet
by Monday, January 21.
* Impact... at 20.0 feet... Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto wildlife management area will be
inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads.
* Impact... at 18.5 feet... Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto wildlife management area will be
inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads.
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... Woodlands and crop acreage along the river
will be flooded.
* Impact... at 16.0 feet... Woodlands along the river and wildlife
management property will be flooded.

... Much colder air for southern Mississippi and southeast
Louisiana Sunday morning...

A strong cold front is moving through southern Mississippi and
southeast Louisiana late this afternoon. Much colder air is moving
into the area in the wake of the front. Temperatures that were
near 70 earlier in the day have already fallen into the lower 40s
northwest of McComb and Baton Rouge. This much colder air will
continue to move across the area overnight on strong northwest
winds.

Overnight lows tonight will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s
north and west of Lake Pontchartrain and over southern
Mississippi. Readings in the mid 30s are expected to south of the
lake. Combined with the gusty northwest winds, this will produce
wind chill values in the upper teens across southwest Mississippi,
and in the 20s across the remainder of the area Sunday morning.
High temperatures on Sunday will struggle to get out of the 40s.

People participating in outdoor activities tonight and Sunday
should be prepared for the much colder weather and dress
accordingly.
