Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:00 AM CDT Jul. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory now in effect from noon today to 8 PM CDT
Friday evening with the higher heat indices Thursday afternoon
and evening and Friday afternoon and evening...

* event... hot temperatures from the upper 90s to around 104
degrees and high relativity values will result in maximum heat
indices between 105 and 110 degrees.

* Timing... between noon and 7 PM CDT today and noon to 8 PM CDT
Friday. The heat advisory will most likely be extended through
the weekend since hot temperatures near 100 degrees will
continue and high relative humidity values will be favorable for
maximum heat indices between 105-110 degrees.

* Impact... heat related illnesses will be possible for those
involved in outdoor activities and home bound persons without
air conditioning or circulated air.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency, call 9 1 1.
