The Flood Warning continues for
the Little Arkansas River at Alta Mills.

* Until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 1:31 PM Tuesday the stage was 23.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
early Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 23.0 feet... just south of Alta Mills, River Park Road
floods 0.2 miles north of the river gage around NW 60th St. There
are several sections along a 2 mile span south of the gage site
where River Park Road takes on water. Burrton West Park may be
closed due to flood waters impacting the site along W park Rd.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Arkansas River near Haven.

* Until Wednesday evening.
* At 1:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 10.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
Wednesday morning.
* Impact... at 11.0 feet... flooding overspreads surrounding pastureland
adjacent to the right bank. Expect river current to be swift with
violent eddys.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cow Creek near Hutchinson.

* Until Sunday evening.
* At 1:15 PM Tuesday the stage was 11.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 11.8 feet by
Wednesday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
morning.
* Impact... at 11.5 feet... on 82nd Avenue the Road floods between
Wilson Road and Pennington Road.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
McPherson County in central Kansas...
Reno County in south central Kansas...
Harvey County in south central Kansas...
Rice County in central Kansas...
Marion County in central Kansas...
southern Saline County in central Kansas...

* until 1130 am CDT Wednesday.

* At 1108 am CDT, local law enforcement reported continued flooding
to numerous County roads across the warned area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hutchinson, Newton, McPherson, Lyons, Hesston, Lindsborg,
Hillsboro, South Hutchinson, Sterling, Halstead, Marion, North
Newton, Moundridge, Sedgwick, Inman, Buhler, Haven, Peabody,
Nickerson and Burrton.

This includes Interstate 135 between mile markers 23 and 77.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
