Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:22 AM CST Feb. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through early Sunday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* southern Indiana and central Kentucky along and northwest of a
line from Scottsville to Campbellsville to Carlisle.

* Through early Sunday morning

* several rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected across
the watch area Thursday morning. Additional rounds of showers
and thunderstorms are expected late Thursday through late
Saturday night. 3 to 5 inches of rainfall is expected through
Sunday morning which result in excessive runoff and flooding.

* This rainfall combined with already saturated soils will lead to
excessive runoff which will cause already swollen rivers to rise
more. Significant and continued rises on the Ohio, Rolling Fork,
Kentucky, and green rivers, as well as other area streams, are
expected throughout the week and into the weekend. In southern
Indiana, the Blue River and muscatatuck river may see
significant rises later this week.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

Monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible warnings. Those
living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take
action should flooding develop or worsen.
