Flood Warning
Issued: 11:03 AM EST Jan. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Edwardsport.
* From late tonight to late Wednesday night.
* At 7:00 am Sunday the stage was 12.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late tonight and continue to
rise to near 16.0 feet by Tuesday evening. It will fall below
flood stage by Wednesday afternoon.
* At 16.0 feet... old Vincennes Road and residential property in this
area begin to flood. Flooding of low agricultural fields occurs
along portions of the river.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Hazleton.
* From this evening to Wednesday January 30.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it is forecast to rise above flood stage this evening,
crest at 19.7 feet late Wednesday night, and then fall below flood
stage by Tuesday January 29.
* At 20.0 feet... most of the low bottomlands flood. Flooding begins in
higher bottomlands. High water affects any residents in Pottsville
river Cabins. Pottsville Road... north c street on river side of
Railroad tracks and catt street near U. S. Highway 41 are flooded.
Water is near or starting on Giro Road in the vicinity of submerged
Pottsville Road. Oil stripped fields flood. Flood gates must be
installed at Hazleton.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Petersburg.
* Until Monday January 28.
* At 10:30 am Sunday the stage was 15.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 18.6 feet by Thursday morning. It will fall below
flood stage by Monday January 28.
* At 19.0 feet... low bottomlands flood and flooding begins on higher
bottomlands. State Road 257 may begin to flood if Shoals gage
reading is over 17 feet. Private levees may be overtopped in many
cases.

... Wintry conditions remain across central Indiana...

Winter precipitation has exited central Indiana... however impacts
from the passed storm remain. Roads across central Indiana may
remain slick and snow covered. Gusty north winds may result in
blowing and drifting of snow... particularly along east-west
roads.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution today while driving.

Furthermore... very cold air will arrive in central Indiana today.
High temperatures will only reach between 10 and 18 today. This in
combination with north winds of 10 to 20 mph will result in wind
chill values as low as -10 to -14.

Be prepared for very cold conditions if you venture outside today
or tonight and be sure to cover all exposed skin.

Winter precipitation has exited central Indiana... however impacts
from the passed storm remain. Roads across central Indiana may
