The Flood Warning continues for
the Little Wabash River at Carmi
* until further notice.
* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 29.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 34.7 feet by
early Thursday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at 35.5 feet... businesses just downstream of IL Route 14
and Route 1 in Carmi flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at New Harmony
* until further notice.
* At 9:30 PM Saturday the stage was 15.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 21.7 feet by
Tuesday... March 6 then begin falling.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet... the river is 3 miles wide at I-64.

White County in southeastern Illinois...
Hardin County in southern Illinois...
Wabash County in southeastern Illinois...
Edwards County in southeastern Illinois...
Gallatin County in southern Illinois...
Warrick County in southwestern Indiana...
Gibson County in southwestern Indiana...
Vanderburgh County in southwestern Indiana...
Posey County in southwestern Indiana...
Pike County in southwestern Indiana...
Henderson County in northwestern Kentucky...
Union County in northwestern Kentucky...

* until 945 am CST Sunday

* although heavy rain has ended across southwest Indiana, the Wabash
valley, and the Henderson area of west Kentucky, some creeks and
streams will remain out of their banks at least into Sunday
morning. Low-lying flood-prone areas will remain inundated. Flood-
prone roads will likely remain covered with water through at least
early Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

the Flood Warning continues for
The Skillet Fork river at Wayne City
* from late tonight to Monday evening.
* At 8:00 PM Saturday the stage was 13.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by after midnight tomorrow and
continue to rise to near 18.3 feet by early Monday morning. The
river will fall below flood stage by Monday afternoon.
* Impact... at 15.0 feet... minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
bottomland and surrounding low lying areas.

... Flood Watch remains in effect until 6 am CST Sunday...

The Flood Watch continues for

* all of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky,
and southeast Missouri.

* Until 6 am CST Sunday

* widespread heavy rainfall Saturday evening has caused extensive
flooding across the region.

* Due to these heavy rains falling on already saturated ground,
flood waters will be very slow to recede.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

Heed all Flood Warning signs, and never cross a flooded roadway.
Turn around and don't drown! Remember it is harder to see rising
waters at night. Seek High Ground immediately if you encounter an
area with rising waters.
